Burger & Lobster's third Malaysian restaurant is open at No. 59, Lebuh Kimberley, inside George Town's UNESCO core. The official Penang page now says the shop is here, not coming soon. The menu is short on purpose: wild-caught lobster, a handful of burgers, fries, and a drinks list with no alcohol.
London started the brand in 2011 on a three-item idea. Malaysia already had Suria KLCC and SkyAvenue at Genting. The Penang room is a heritage shoplot, not a mall lot, so the tank and the street sit closer together than they do in KLCC. Book through the brand's Penang reservation widget if you want a table on a weekend night. Walk-ins are possible. Kimberley fills fast after 7pm.
What the Penang menu actually lists
Prices below come from the brand's own Penang menu, not the KLCC page. The two lists are not identical. Penang does not carry the lobster laksa that appears in Kuala Lumpur, and the drinks stay on mocktails, juice, and milkshakes.
- Classic Whole Lobster, RM229, steamed or grilled, lemon and garlic butter. Fries and salad add RM15. Truffle fries and salad add RM25.
- Lobster Roll, RM139, chilled lobster, lemon mayo, toasted brioche, the same butter sauce.
- Mayfair Burger, RM69, 6oz beef, lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onion, burger sauce. Cheese or beef bacon add RM8.
- The B&L Combo, RM195, half lobster plus a Mayfair, fries, salad, butter. Upgrade to the Beast for RM25.
- Beast Burger, RM95, 6oz beef with lobster meat, brie, truffle and tarragon mayo, fennel and cabbage slaw.
- Surf & Turf Roll, RM79. Spicy Garlic Butter Lobster Pasta, RM85.
- Starters: prawns and calamari RM60, loaded mac and cheese RM42.
- Dessert: pistachio chocolate mousse RM48, chocolate brownie RM43.
The whole lobster is the order that makes the drive from Gurney or Bayan Lepas worth it. At RM229 it is not a hawker night. It is the plate you book when you already ate char kway teow at lunch and still want a tank lobster without leaving the island. The combo at RM195 is the more useful table for two if one person wants beef and the other wants half a lobster.
Kimberley Street, not a mall atrium
Lebuh Kimberley sits between Penang Road and the old wet-market grid. You can walk from Komtar in about 15 minutes, or take a Grab to the shophouse door. The street already has rice rolls, kopitiams, and late noodles. Burger & Lobster does not replace those. It adds a tank and a booking link to a block that used to send people to KLCC for this exact meal.
Penang Today flagged the kitchen as pork-free, lard-free, and alcohol-free. The official Penang drinks list matches that last point: mint cooler, rose ice lemon tea, and vanilla sunset at RM22, green apple or orange juice at RM16, Nutella and Oreo milkshakes at RM48. The loaded mac still lists crispy beef bacon bits. Read the dish line if that matters to you.
The Beast is the local-interest burger. It puts lobster meat on the same bun as the 6oz patty, then brie and a tarragon mayo that reads richer than the Mayfair. I would not order it and a whole lobster in the same sitting. I would order it with fries and the pistachio mousse if the table already split a starter.
How this sits next to Penang seafood
Penang's lobster reputation is not this restaurant. It is the grilled items at Gurney Drive, the chilli pan mee seafood stalls, and the weekend tanks in Tanjung Bungah. Burger & Lobster is a branded Atlantic lobster, flown in, plated with garlic butter. That is a different job from a RM12 char kway teow. Treat it as a booked dinner after a day in the heritage zone, not as a substitute for the hawker trail.
